Farmers Support Project

Overview

Economic empowerment is one of the CORE work areas of Life Builders Initiative.  In a bid to empower rural communities with sustainable agricultural practices, Life builders Initiative mobilized and supported a team of NYSC Corps members of the Agro-Allied CDS group to educate farmers on using agriculture to reduce poverty and expose their minds to viable areas for income generating opportunities e.g. fish farming, animal/ poultry farming and crop farming. 

FARMERS SUPPORT PROJECT – PEGI CAMP/COMMUNITY-KUJE AREA COUNCIL​

In a bid to empower rural communities with sustainable agricultural practices, Life builders Initiative mobilized and supported a team of NYSC Corps members of the Agro-Allied CDS group to educate Kuje IDP farmers on using agriculture to reduce poverty and expose their minds to viable areas for income generating opportunities e.g. fish farming, animal/ poultry farming and crop farming. The total of 16-20 farmers gained from the exercise.​

FARMERS SUPPORT PROJECT – KUTARA-TATARADNA IDP COMMUNITY

Kutara/Tataradna is a resettlement area hosting a population of 459 persons in the community, made up of 72 households. It is about 7 kilometers away from Masaka Area of Nasarawa State. The Kutara/Kataradna community has been greatly empowered by LBI in line with our mandate as a humanitarian organization determined to meet the educational needs of the young adults, provide support for economic empowerment and reduce poverty among the people. To meet up with this set goals, Life Builders have provided Uniforms/learning materials to over 120 school pupils in the school. In addition to this, the director of Life Builders Initiative, Mr. Sanwo Olatunji-David provided a financial loan to 22 farmers of the sum of N10,000 each to encourage their farming season. The support was not limited to the provision of uniforms and agricultural empowerment alone, Life Builders equally took responsibility for the payment of school fees for about 120 pupils of Kutara/Tataradna Community School.
