Where We Work
School Without Walls, which is our flagship project and remains the focus of Life Builders Initiative currently runs through two learning centers located in New Kuchigoro (Beside Games Village) and Area 1 Durumi (Behind American International).
In education, other areas where we operate are in paying the fees, providing school uniforms for over 200 students for 2 years in Kutara – Tataradna Community, Karu local government of Nasarrawa State. Every year, we sponsor and support students who have completed 4-6 years of learning at the School Without Walls into government secondary schools. We currently have over 150 students under our sponsorship project.
In the Areas of Health, we have facilitated Medical Outreaches in partnership with qualified doctors and pharmacists and other NGOs in rural communities such as: Kuje local government and Wassa, Kabusa, Orozo communities all located under AMAC, FCT.

Waru IDP Camp is under the Abuja Municipal Area Council and located after APO Mechanic Village in the Federal Capital Territory. Getting to APO Mechanic, you can ask any available Okada man to take you to Waru. A major landmark on the road to Waru camp is the Shop Rite Outlet located in APO. The road is motorable but untarred stony and dusty as you approach Waru IDP camp. The camp has a mixed population of over 5000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), who live amongst non-IDPs. Majority of them are from Bornu State. Life Builders Initiative identified and started its interventions in Waru in August 2015.
Area 1 IDP Camp is under the Abuja Municipal Area Council and located in Area 1 in the Federal Capital Territory. It is about 1km from Area 1 Express, and a major landmark close to the camp from Area 1 is the Dunamis International Gospel Centre located along the road path to the camp. The road to the camp is motorable, although it gets untarred and dusty at some point close to the camp. Area 1 IDP Camp is a private-owned expanse of land (land owned by non-IDP individuals other than government) and so, there is often a recurrent relocation from one vacant area land to another within the camp. The camp has a population of over 8000 internally displaced persons and over 90% of them are from Bornu. Life Builders Initiative stared its interventions in this camp in July 2015 and has carried out a number of projects in line with some of its thematic areas IN ‘WASH,’ ‘Medical Services,’ and ‘Societal Integration.’ A monthly sanitation exercise is conducted by Life Builders Initiative once every month in the camp. The organization has also mobilized various stakeholders including the Nigerian Red Cross Society and the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria to reach out to the internally displaced persons in Area 1 IDP Camp. In March, 2016, the National Action Committee on Aids (NACA) was invited by Life Builders Initiative to reach out medically to the IDPS IN Area 1 with free medical tests, drugs and mosquito nets.
New Kuchingoro IDP Camp is under the Abuja Municipal Area Council and located in the Federal Capital Territory. It is located along Galadimawa Express and not up to a kilometer from Games Village. The road to the camp is sloppy, but motorable. The land within the camp is government-owned. The camp has mix of population: Some from Bauchi, Jos, Adamawa, and over 90% of them are from Gwosa in Bornu State. This camp, which is a stone’s throw from Area 1 IDP Camp has a population of over 4500 resident internally displaced persons. Life Builders Initiative started its interventions in this camp in July 2015 and has carried out a number of projects in line with some of its thematic areas IN ‘WASH,’ ‘Medical Services,’ and ‘Societal Integration.’ A monthly sanitation exercise is conducted by Life Builders Initiative once every month in the camp. With the results of the needs assessment, Life Builders Initiative will be implementing appropriate intervention and mobilizing key stakeholders to reach out to the identified areas of needs of the people of Wassa IDP Camp. Life Builders Initiative has also just completed the profiling and registration of Wassa IDPs for identity cards- both the National ID cards and the unique IDP identity card.
Kuje IDP Camp is located in Kuje Local Government Area in the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, Nigeria. The camp is mixed in that the internally displaced persons (IDPs) live with non-IDPs in this camp. The camp has a mixed population of over 3000 internally displaced persons with majority of them from Chibok in Bornu State. Life Builders Initiative started its interventions in Kuje IDP Camp in August 2015. Life Builders Initiative has completed the profiling and registration of Kuje IDPs for identity cards- both the National ID cards and the unique IDP identity card.
Kabussa IDP Camp a small town under the Abuja Municipal Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory. It is located along Galadimawa Express and Sunnyville Estate. The road to the camp is tarred and well motorable. The camp has a mixed population of over 4000 internally displaced persons and majority of them are from Bornu State. Life Builders started its interventions in Kabussa in November 2015 and has completed the profiling and registration of Kabussa IDPs for identity cards- both the National ID cards and the unique IDP identity card.
Orozo IDP Camp is under the Abuja Municipal Area Council and located along Nyanya road in the Federal Capital Territory. The road to the camp is tarred and motorable. The camp has a mixed population of over 3000 internally displaced persons and majority of them are from Bornu State. The internally displaced persons (IPDs) live among non-IDPs in this camp. Life Builders Initiative identified and started its interventions in Orozo in August 2015.
Nasarawa IDP Camp is located in Karu Local Government Area in the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, Nigeria. The camp is along Mararaba Express. From Mararaba last Bus/stop, you can ask any Okada rider to take you to the camp. The camp has a population of over 8227 internally displaced persons who live amongst non- IDPs. Life Builders Initiative identified and started its interventions in Nasarawa in November, 2015.
